Japanese Diplomat Charged With 16 Counts Of Domestic Violence

San Bruno, CA –A Japanese diplomat has pleaded not guilty to 16 counts of domestic violence on Monday.  Yoshiaki Nagaya, 32 is Japan’s vice consul general in San Francisco and has worked as a liaison there for almost two years.  He was arrested in March when his wife, Yuka Nagaya, said he threw her from a slow-moving car during an argument.  He is also accused of stabbing his wife in the hand with a screwdriver and hitting her in the mouth and knocking out her teeth. Yuka Nagaya had photographs of each injury when she went to the police. The couple were married in December of 2010, and the violence began about a month later.
