Chicago, IL –A five-year-old boy who was taken from a St. Louis hospital by his father was found in a hotel near Chicago, and his father was arrested.  Porter Stone has congestive heart failure, and is a candidate for a heart transplant.  He was being discharged from the hospital to his mother who has custody of the boy when his father took him.  His father took him without two of his required medications or his equipment for an intravenous drug.  Investigators found Porter at the Baymont Inn & Suites in …

Los Angeles, CA — Lane Garrison, best known for his role on Prison Break, was charged with misdemeanor battery for hitting his ex-girlfriend.  Garrison and his girlfriend Ashley Mattingly were getting off an elevator when he struck her.  The incident occurred in the lobby of an apartment building in the 300 block of North Palm Drive on Saturday.  There were witnesses to the incident.

Indiana –Three girls who were expelled from their middle school for joking on Facebook about which classmates they would kill are being backed by the American Civil Liberties Union.  The ACLU filed a federal complaint that contends the girl’s right to freedom of speech was violated.  The three eighth-graders were students of Griffith Middle School. A parent of another student made a copy of the Facebook conversation and gave it to the principal in January.  Right away the principal suspended the girls for 10 days. Chicago, IL –A man who allegedly robbed and punched a 79-year-old man is being held on $125,000 bail.  Dominic Johnson, 18, was charged with one felony count of robbery of a senior citizen after being identified by the victim.  Johnson punched the older man so hard he had to have surgery.  The incident occurred on March 27 behind the victim’s property at the 400 block of West 79th Street.  The victim saw Johnson gambling and asked him to leave.  Johnson punched him in the stomach and robbed him of $1000 …

Santa Maria, CA –Three people pleaded no contest and are facing prison sentences for burning an 11-foot cross near a black family’s home.  Jason Kahn, 36, William Soto, 20, and Sara Matheny, 24, accepted a plea deal on charges of arson, terrorism, and hate crime enhancements.  Kahn will be sentenced to 12 years in prison, and Soto and Matheny will each spend 5 years in prison.  A fourth person, Jeremiah Hernandez, age 32, is also charged in the incident and he is awaiting trial.  The cross was burned in March …

Chicago, IL — A former Marine, who served tours in Afghanistan and Iraq, died Sunday when he was electrocuted by making contact with the third rail.  Zachary McKee was in Chicago with relatives to watch a Cubs game and celebrate his brother-in-law’s birthday.  He was at the Chicago Transit Authority Purple Line station in Evanston when he climbed down the elevated train track to urinate.  He accidentally fell onto the third rail that was live. Chicago, IL –A former employee is charged with stealing over $1.7 million in computer parts from Hewlett-Packard and selling them on the Internet for his own profit.  Alexis Ortega, 31, was arrested on Monday and charged with theft and money laundering.  He is being held on $50,000 bail. Hewlett-Packard discovered the theft after an internal investigation and they filed a criminal complaint.  Ortega bought computer parts using HP accounts and had the parts delivered to his home.  He would then sell the parts on eBay. Oak Cliff, TX –A car struck another vehicle that was out of gas and stopped in an exit lane of the freeway, killing two girls and injuring four other passengers.  Roshun Moore, 22, was driving a Chevy Cavalier on the R.L. San Diego, CA — A hit-and-run driver struck a motorcyclist and then left the scene on the southbound 163 Freeway at about 2:17 a.m. on Monday.  The driver of the motorcycle was traveling in the left lane of the freeway when he was hit.  Other motorists helped the motorcycle driver get off the road before another car hit his motorcycle causing it to burst into flames.  Paramedics transported the motorcyclist to Scripps Mercy Hospital.  The freeway was at a standstill for about 45 minutes after the accident.  Police …

Los Angeles, CA — The divorce of the Dog Whisperer, Cesar Millan and his wife has become final.  Cesar Millan must pay his ex-wife, Ilusion, a one-time payment of $400.000, a monthly spousal support payment of $23,000 and a monthly child support payment of $10,000.
