A motorcycle accident has claimed the life of an Orient-Macksburg Community School District teacher. Mark Peterson, 23, taught English at the High School.
The accident occurred around 10:45 A.M. Saturday.  Iowa State Patrol authorities state Peterson was riding his 2001 Honda Motorcycle north on Highway 25 when another driver failed to yield at the 130th Avenue intersection.
Authorities say June Floyd, 47, of Creston, caused the collision when she turned her 1993 Ford Escort left in front of Peterson’s motorcycle.  According to the police report, Floyd was uninjured.

A 4-year-old boy was killed in an all-terrain vehicle accident near Middletown, MD.  The accident occurred when the boy wandered away from family members and drove the ATV to a creek where it overturned.  
An autopsy was done and concluded that the child, Fordham Poffenbarger drowned.  Frederick County Sheriff’s Office Cpl. Jennifer Bailey said Poffenbarger was pronounced dead on Sunday, one day after the accident.

BUSHNELL, FL— Four motorcyclists were killed Saturday night in a collision after leaving a gathering with friends.  A truck attempting to pass another vehicle collided head-on with the motorcycles.  The accident occurred at 7 p.m. on County Road 476 near County Road 629.
Killed  were William Barker, 54, of Stuart, his passenger, Patrice Poole, 55, of Mount Dora, John Holmes, 55, of Beverly Hills, and his’ passenger, Patricia Beihayn, 52, of Hernando.
