San Diego, CA — A San Diego man pleaded guilty to identity theft, burglary, and grand theft charges on Monday. Daniel Axinte, 49, placed a debit skimming device on a bank security door and used cameras to steal PIN numbers from ATM machines. It is believed that Axinte stole more than 970 security codes to ATM cards. Money from the victims’ accounts was stolen between January and July of last year, mostly in $500 increments. Los Angeles, CA —An Arizona college student was arrested on one count each of conspiracy and unauthorized impairment of a protected computer. Cody Kretsinger, 23, of Tempe, AZ hacked into the Sony Pictures Entertainment computers this summer when more than 37,000 customers had their information stolen. Kretsinger faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted.
Until Kretsinger appears in Los Angeles federal court on Oct.11, he is restricted from using his computer for anything except for schoolwork. Kretsinger was part of a group called LulzSec who grabbed confidential …
