Sheriff’s deputies discovered the bodies of a man and a woman at a Saratoga home Sunday. The finding was prompted by a call from a relative. The man and woman had apparently died that morning.
The victims’ identities or details about their deaths have not been revealed by the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office. The only thing stated was that there was no threat to public safety. Sheriff’s spokesman Rick Sung said, “We are still interviewing people and talking to the reporting party.”

Former NFL player, Eric Shelton, filed a lawsuit on Monday against the league over its pension policies on helmet to helmet hits. The lawsuit was filed in the U.S. Federal Court in Baltimore.
Eric Shelton played for the Washington Redskins and Carolina Panthers. His career ended during a preseason game in 2008 when he had a helmet-to-helmet hit.
Shelton claims since the hit he suffers from transient paralysis, memory loss, Parkinsonism, blurred vision, and is unable to find a job.

Stuart Haverty, 23, died on Sunday at Soldier Field where he was attending a football game watching the Chicago Bears, a team which he loved.
Haverty, of far northwest suburban Woodstock, fell 35 feet to his death from a balcony on the west side of the stadium.
Friends of Haverty said he was a skilled climber who enjoyed scaling up the side of buildings and trees. According to them, he may have even hopped over a railing to enjoy a cigarette behind one of Soldier’s Field’s famous columns before he fell.

An autopsy is planned for the 2-year-old boy, Lucas Anthony Tang, who died after plunging from a skybox at Staples Center.
According to police and paramedics, Tang suffered massive head injuries in the Sunday night fall, but an official cause of death must be determined.
Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter said the results of the autopsy probably wouldn’t be released until Wednesday.
The boy fell from a third-level luxury box and landed on a row of seats minutes after the Los Angeles Lakers beat the Golden State Warriors. He died at a hospital.

The three men who died when a single engine plan crashed into the water near Newport Beach have been identified.
According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department the men were identified as 58-year-old Charles Alfred Chambers and 63-year-old Russell Urban of Palos Verdes Estate. The third man aboard was 44-year-old Sean Kelly of Hermosa Beach.
Chambers was the pilot.
The Federal Aviation Administration said the plane was heading Sunday from Calexico on the U.S.-Mexican border to Torrance, but Chambers diverted to John Wayne Airport after reporting a fuel shortage.

The commissioners of the Oregon Liquor Control Commission held a special meeting Saturday afternoon regarding the recent FDA ruling concerning alcoholic energy drinks.
The meeting was held in Miliwakee, OR and commissioners voted to approve a temporary ban on caffeinated alcohol beverages.
The temporary ban on alcoholic energy drinks like Joost and Four Loko, goes into effect Saturday and will continue through May 18th or until a permanent rule can be drafted and adopted.
Comissioners are concerned about the health effects of the combination of caffeine and alcohol.

Two teens were killed after they were hit by an LRT train just north of the Commonwealth Stadium station Tuesday night.
The northbound train struck a teenage boy and a teenage girl near a crossing at 82 Street and 113 Avenue at approximately 8:15 p.m., according to police spokesman Chad Orydzuk.
The two victims were among a group of about six youths who had been walking near the tracks at 82 Street and 114 Avenue.
Police are still unsure why the teens were on the tracks and police would not comment on reports …

An accident that occurred Tuesday afternoon has left four people injured, including two children. The crash involved an overturned Escalade on the northbound I-5 near Jeffrey Road, the California Highway Patrol said.
Capt. Greg McKeown of the Orange County Fire Authority said the OCFA received the call of the two vehicle crash at 12:18 p.m.
McKeown said two adults with traumatic injuries and two children with minor injuries were taken to a nearby hospital. The adult driver of the other vehicle suffered minor injuries, McKeown said.

The gun belonging to Officer Ryan Bonaminio, who was shot and killed Sunday night by an unidentified suspect who is still at large, has not been recovered, according to Riverside police.
Police said the officer may have been shot with his own weapon but they are still investigating that possibility.
The city and county of Riverside, the county district attorney’s office, local and federal police agencies, and the Morongo Indian tribe have contributed to a reward of $385,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect.

A woman is dead after being hit by a fork lift a the Isabella County Recycling center.
A Mid-Michigan Industries client working at the Isabella County Recycling Center has died of injuries sustained in a forklift accident Monday, Sheriff Leo Mioduszewski said.
The forklift was driven by Clarence Andrew Rose, 52, of Alma. He was in the process of moving a recycling bin Monday when it hit Sharon Welling, 52, of St. Louis.
Welling was airlifted to Spectrum Hospital in Grand Rapids because of the magnitude of her injuries. She suffered serious injuries …
