Pfizer has announced that it intends to recall approximately 38,000 bottles of atorvastatin calcium (Lipitor) 40 mg tablets, distributed in the U.S.
The drug is being recalled because of customer reports of an uncharacteristic odor related to the bottles in which these lots of Lipitor were packaged. The bottles were supplied by a third-party bottle manufacturer.
“A medical assessment found the risk of health consequences to patients appears to be minimal,” Pfizer said.

Northern California and Central Valley stores are having a salad dressing product recalled from their stores. A company that makes salad dressings is recalling one of its products because wrong labels were put on the dressing.
There is a recall of Valu Time brand Ranch dressing because the back label was mislabeled as Valu Time Light Ranch dressing according to VanLaw Food Products, Inc.
The mislabeled dressing does not include an egg allergen declaration according to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
