Orlando, FL -A 4-year-old boy was found drowned in his neighbor’s swimming pool in Pine Hills on Sunday.  The boy’s mother told Orange County deputies that her son was missing.  Deputies began to search the area and saw a pool in the back yard of a neighbor’s house.  When they looked over the fence, they saw a small pair of shoes next to the pool.  The boy was found face down in the pool.  Deputies performed CPR on the boy and he was taken by firefighters to the hospital, but …

Santa Ana, CA –Itzcoatl “Izzy” Ocampo was charged with four counts of murder today for the killing of four homeless men. The charges include special allegations of multiple murders, lying in wait and use of a deadly weapon. The minimum sentence if convicted is life in prison without parole. Ocampo would be eligible for the death penalty if convicted, but it is unknown if the district attorney will seek it.  The four men who were stabbed to death are James Patrick McGillivray, 53, killed in Placentia on …

Orlando, FL — A 7-year-old boy got his hands on a gun and accidentally shot a 15-year-old boy in the head. The accident occurred at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Sunday in a home.  There were adults present in the house at the time of the shooting.  The teen who was shot is Anthony Lane, Jr.  The boy who allegedly pulled the trigger is a special needs child.  Police are investigating the accident and interviewing all the adults there to find out the facts as to what occurred.  The injured boy …

Houston, TX-– An alleged drunk driver struck and killed a man driving a mobility scooter with a one year-old boy on his lap.  Clifford Johnson, 56, had his girlfriend’s son with him as he was riding on the sidewalk north on West Montgomery at Ferguson Way.  He was hit by the SUV that Wilmer Farley III was driving when he moved into a traffic lane to avoid some water.  The SUV struck the scooter throwing Johnson about 20 feet.  Johnson held onto the child and kept him from being injured.  …

Vista, CA – A man who pleaded guilty to assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury was sentenced to 10 years in state prison on Thursday.  Bruce Erwin Hamil, 36, punched an 53-year-old furniture salesman in the head during an argument at a bar.  Willie Hoyle died two days later.  The fight occurred at Hosie’s Pacific Pub on Sept. 28, 2010.  Hamil only threw one punch but that punch ruptured an artery in Hoyle’s brain.  Hamil left the scene after the fight, but was later arrested.  This is …

Germantown,  MD — A man, Curtis M. Lopez, was indicted by Montgomery County grand jury, charging him with the murder and kidnapping of his estranged wife and his son.  Jane McQuain’s body was discovered in her apartment on Oct. 12 after a friend reported her missing. She died of blunt force trauma to her head and was stabbed twice in the back.  Her son, a sixth grader at Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School was not found, and had not been at school since Sept. 30.  Jane McQuain’s car was …

Los Angeles, CA –The death of a 2-year-old Latina girl has been ruled a homicide and the parents have been arrested.  Abigail Lara-Morales died from head trauma on July 5, 2011 in the 2900 block of Oakwood Avenue in Lnywood.  Paramedics responded to a 911 call at 2:55 a.m. on July 3.  The little girl was taken to St. Francis Medical Center in Lynwood and later was moved to Children’s Hospital in Long Beach. Dallas, TX –A 17-year-old boy from Lubock died Saturday, Nov. 19 when he fell from the Hilton Anatole to the parking lot below.  Quinton Smith was part of a chess club from Estacado High School who were participating in a national chess tournament.  A few hours after Smith lost his fourth round at the tournament he fell to his death.  Witnesses tried to perform CPR but it was too late.  Smith, a junior in high school, was involved in several school teams including chess, tennis, and mock trial.  Police are …

Massachusetts — A diver of a U-Haul truck was driving through a parking lot at the tailgating area of the annual Yale-Harvard football game when he accelerated, ran over three women and crashed into other trucks that were parked.  One 30-year-old woman was killed and the other two were injured.  The woman who died was not a student at Yale or Harvard.  A second woman hit was a Yale School of Management student and was taken to the hospital.  The third woman had minor injuries.  The driver of the truck …
