San Diego, CA – A construction worker was killed when the aerial-platform machine he was operating tipped over and fell at an equipment yard.  The accident occurred on Tuesday at the lot in the 800 block of Hollister Street in Palm City around 11:30 a.m.  The man, 38, was unloading the “cherry picker” from a flatbed truck when one of the wheels slipped off the edge with the worker inside its basket.  The worker died at the scene.  Cal-OSHA will investigate the accident.  According to the U.S. Department …

Brooklyn, CA — A five-story apartment building that was under construction in Brighton Beach collapsed on five construction workers, critically injuring one.  The building located at 2929 Brighton Fifth Street near Neptune Avenue collapsed around 2:30 p.m.  Concrete was being pumped from a truck to the second and third floors of the building right before the floors gave way.  The accident is under investigation, but the weight of the concrete possibly caused the third floor to collapse into the second floor.  Four men were in the building at the time …
