Fire Captain Steven Nixon, from Richmond, was injured in a boating accident on the Rappahannock River last month and is facing felony charges related to the crash.
Nixon is facing involuntary manslaughter charges as well as six other felonies in the crash that killed his brother’s fiancee Amanda Brady, a Henrico school teacher. The Fire Captain’s son and wife also suffered serious injuries.

A boating accident near Anclote River Park off U.S. 19 near the Pinellas-Pasco county line has left one person dead and four others suffering injuries.
According to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office two boats collided near the park’s main docks about 2:30 p.m. Both boats were entering the channel in a light rain near marker No. 18 where the accident occurred.
Eddie Feidt, a lifeguard who witnessed the collision, stated that one boat accelerated and cut off the other one.

According to authorities a fisherman died after another boat rear-ended his boat Sunday shortly after midnight, throwing him into the Cal-Sag Channel in the south suburbs.
Coast Guard Petty Officer Nathaniel Parks stated that the accident occurred when the second boat swerved to avoid a log and hit the fishing boat, which was moving. The man in the fishing boat was thrown into the water and could not swim. He was not wearing a life jacket.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission reported that a father and his 6-year-old daughter were injured on Monday when their parasail malfunctioned and bounced them across the water and into a sea wall.
Both father and daughter only suffered minor injuries. ”They suffered only bumps and bruises. Their injuries could have been much worse,” said FWC spokesman Jorge Pino.
The two went up in the parasail a little before 5 p.m. into the waters east of Miami’s Bayside Marketplace and were part of a family of six visiting from Chicago. …

A man and his pregnant 19-year-old daughter and her unborn child were killed in a freak boating accident on Memorial Day in the Intracoastal Waterway just south of Ponce de Leon Inlet in Florida.

The married couple who died in a boating accident Sunday in the waters off Ocean Beach in San Francisco were identified Monday.
59-year-old Jeffery Easterling and 50-year-old Elizabeth Easterling, of El Sobrante were identified by the Medical Examiner’s Office. Elizabeth Easterling’s body was found when it washed ashore shortly after the accident. Jeffery Easterlings’s body was not found until Monday morning. His body surfaced near Ocean Beach.

A boat collision occurred at Walt Disney World along a waterway on Thursday April 22, 2010. The accident occurred in Lake Buena Vista Florida and involved a small vessel and a ferry boat.
Will Green, Captain of the Ferry, stated the ferry was allegedly traveling southbound as the small boat traveled recklessly towards the ferry, and crashed into it. According to Green, the watercraft went under the ferry and then surfaced in front of it with the injured passenger.
