Richland Hills Man Arrested For Carving A Pentagram Into His 6-Year-Old Son's Back
Richland Hills, TX —A man was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after he carved a pentagram into his 6-year-old son’s back. Brent Troy Bartel called 911 himself on Wednesday morning and told the dispatcher that, “I shed some innocent blood.” He then said, “I’m sorry.” and that he did it because “it’s a holy day.” Today’s date is 12-12-12. Police arrived at the home and found the boy who was taken to the hospital. He had a large pentagram covering almost his entire back. Police believe Bartel used a box cutter that they recovered at the scene to make the pentagram. The boy was listed in stable condition. A mental evaluation was ordered for the father. A neighbor also called 911 when the boy’s mother came to the door saying, ”He’s trying to hurt my 6-year-old” and “Please hurry! Oh, God!” In the past four years police have gone to that location on a few domestic calls involving verbal arguments.
