Dade City, FL –A young health care caseworker was killed by a client when she went on an in-home visit. Stephanie Ross had visited Lucious Smith’s apartment before, even writing in his file that two people should visit him in the future. Ross went to Smith’s apartment alone on Monday morning, and police said that Smith chased her down the street and stabbed her with a butcher knife. Smith, 53, was an ex-con who had a history of violence. He served seven years in prison for aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. Smith was booked into the Pasco County jail, and was charged with first-degree murder. Ross started with Integra Health Management in September as a service coordinator. She dedicated her life to helping people with chronic illnesses.
