Tour bus accident in Rosemead
23 people were injured on Thursday, June 17, 2010 in a three-vehicle collision in Rosemead. Of the 23, two were critically injured. The accident occurred at 10 a.m. in the 3000 block of North San Gabriel Boulevard.
According to officials a silver Honda Civic was headed southbound on San Gabriel Boulevard near Garvey avenue, when it crashed into the rear end of a white Nissan Sentra. The Nissan Sentra was pushed into oncoming traffic where it collided head-on with a tour bus.
Both the driver of the tour bus and the driver of the Nissan were rushed to a trauma center in critical condition. According to reports the driver of the bus suffered two broken legs and the driver of the Nissan suffered one broken leg. One other person was also rushed to the trauma center as well.
Seven other people were taken to a nearby hospital and reportedly sustained minor injuries. The remaining 13 other people were treated at the scene and released.
The accident is still under investigation with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and it is unknown what caused the Honda to rear-end the Nissan, which caused the multiple vehicle accident.
