Intern for Governor Perdue dies in car accident
The intern for Governor Sonny Perdue was killed in a car accident this weekend in Atlanta when a woman with a .229 blood-alcohol level slammed into his car. The intern was a 2008 University of Georgia graduate.
The victim was 24-year-old Jordan Griner. He was the designated driver early Saturday when he was hit by a car driven by 26-year-old Christa Scott. Scott ran a red light and hit the driver’s door of Griner’s car, according to reports. Scott is being held in the Fulton County jail on charges of first-degree vehicular homicide, DUI and reckless driving.
According to reports the accident occurred a little after 4 a.m. Griner, from Augusta, had just dropped of friends and was heading home when the accident occurred.
Griner’s funeral is scheduled for 3 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Sons Funeral Home in Augusta.
